“But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be give you besides.”
Matthew 6:33, Amplified Bible

Pray instead….Praise instead
“Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?
And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life? and why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin. Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry and be anxious saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear? For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.
But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be give you besides.”
Matthew 6:25-33, Amplified Bible
These scriptures are to encourage you when you are worried or anxious. When you are in lack take comfort in knowing that your source is the Creator of all the universe and He loves you unconditionally. Not only does God love you but He prefers you. He says if I take care of the “birds of the air” how much more will I take care of you. God made us in his image and His likeness and created us to not be in lack, but to have an abundant life in all ways. When life seems overwhelming or you are in lack seek “The One”, “The Provider”, “The First and Final Source”, Jesus Christ. Even if all else fails, take comfort in knowing that you can always count on your Father in Heaven.
“And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].”
– II Corinthians 9:8, Amplified Bible
Scripture for enouragement
“I will cry to God Most High, Who performs on my behalf and rewards me [Who brings to pass His purposes for me and surely completes them]!”
Psalm 57:2, Amplified Bible
“Arise [from your bed], cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord.”
– Lamentations 2:19, Amplified Bible
God will always show up on our behalf. We love him because he first loved us. It is up to us to follow him, his ways and his word in order to get to know him. However, we know him because he pursued us first. How we respond to his sweet loving pursuit determines the depths of the relationship between us and God. It takes two to make a relationship but God ultimately is the one who pursues and awaits in patience and longing for his children.
Pray today: I will pour out my heart fully and freely to you God and you will help me in my times of need, times of trouble, times of hardship or times of loss.
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire is fulfilled, it is the tree of life.”
– Proverbs 13:12, Amplified Version
Hope Scripture for Encouragement. When our plans continue to be unsuccessful or our desires are unfulfilled, we can easily get discouraged and lose hope. However, please be aware that if we delay hope our heart will undoubtedly become sick (depressed). And It is even more significant to know that lacking hope also means a lack of faith in God. Although, often unintentional, it is doubting both his love and his ability. God, our Father, loves us and always has our best interest in mind. He desires for us to have peace and joy even more than we do. As a faithful believer, understand that whatever you desire in goodness God will fulfill and whatever pain you are going through God will heal. We must not continue to allow our circumstances or our emotions to discourage us because soon depression, distraction, then destruction will follow. One of the most rewarding things about being a Christian believer, is that we have direct access to the most greatest hope alive, Jesus Christ! For HE is the ONE who brought hope to the world when there was not hope. And before he left earth in physical form, he said he would “never leave us nor forsake us” (Deut. 31:6, NIV). So instead he left us with “The Paraclete”, which means “The Comforter”:
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever” John 14:15-17, AMP
When you feel like you are losing hope I want to remind you that the Holy Spirit is always within you. Therefore I sincerely encourage you, without delay or defer, to engage in things that draw out the Spirit of God within you. I highly recommend praise and worship, meditating on the bible, listening to Preachers you trust, attending a Spirit-filled church or listening to Spirit-filled music. All these are important ways to sow seeds of hope and faith into your thoughts. For one of the greatest achievements a Christian believer can ever have in their personal walk with God is to truly have their mind in full unwavering agreement with God’s Spirit.
Why should you keep on hoping and having faith? Why not give up? Because where your joy lies, so does your strength (Neh. 8:10). The enemy intends to steal your joy so you will be defeated. Today, choose to never allow anyone to take the joy that God himself has appointed you to have as His unique heir.
